Lisa P. Jackson is Head of Environmental Affairs for Apple.In this role, Jackson oversees Apple’s environmental issues globally. Jackson was the Former U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Chief Lisa Jackson. Jackson was the first African-American to serve as the chief of EPA. She left the EPA in 2013, after serving the Obama administration for four years. During her time with the Obama administration, Jackson oversaw the implementation and proposal of several politically divisive air- and water-pollution rules.
Chief among those were stricter vehicle fuel economy standards, mercury and other toxic emissions rules, and proposed rules governing greenhouse gas emissions from new power plants. She has made it a priority to focus on vulnerable groups including children, the elderly, and low-income communities that are particularly susceptible to environmental and health threats. Before becoming EPA’s Administrator, Jackson served as Chief of Staff to former New Jersey Governor Jon S. Corzine.
Jackson holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Tulane University and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering, from Princeton University.
