Valentino D. Carlotti is Global Head of Business Development for Sotheby’s. In this role, he leads and coordinates all of the company’s business development efforts around the world and is heavily involved in its growth strategies (both traditional and online). He has management responsibilities for the American and European Chairmen, Client Development, Private Client Group, Proposals, Museum Services, Restitution, Senior Business Development, Tax & Heritage, Trusts and Estates, Valuations and the Art & Object divisions.
Carlotti provides leadership for Sotheby’s regional offices and sales representatives in North and South America, and he provides business development support for its network across Europe, the Middle East, Russia, India and Africa.
Previously at Goldman Sachs, Carlotti was a member of the management team within the Securities Division and worked in the London and New York offices. Carlotti serves as a trustee on the boards of Carnegie Hall, the Guggenheim Museum, American Ballet Theatre, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Studio Museum in Harlem, The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Guild Hall, MLT and the Boys’ Club of New York.
Carlotti holds a B.A. from Yale University and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Graduate School of Business.
