Scott McMillion serves as Chief Diversity Officer for the FBI.
In this role, McMillion directs the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI). He serves as the senior executive consultant to the FBI Director and executives on diversity issues, building on his service as chair of the FBI’s Black Affairs Diversity Committee and on the National Recruitment Team.
McMillion oversees more than ten diversity programs, including the FBI Director’s Priority Initiative to increase recruitment and selection of diverse candidates, increase female and minority representation in leadership, and engage employees in their shared responsibility to build an inclusive workforce. Other ODI programs enhance the FBI’s relationship with HBCUs and minority-serving institutions, deliver diversity training and data analysis to FBI employees, and intentionally match senior executive mentors with aspiring leaders who are of a different race, gender, or ethnicity.
With the FBI since 1998, Supervisory Special Agent McMillion has investigated national security matters, violent crime, and crimes on Native American lands. As an FBI instructor, he has taught at domestic and international law enforcement academies.
McMillion earned his B.S. degree in Criminology from Florida State University and his Master of Forensic Science from Nebraska Wesleyan University.
