Marquis Miller is the Vice President, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the Obama Foundation, providing strategic and programmatic leadership for all diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the Foundation.
Before joining the Obama Foundation, Marquis served as the first Chief Diversity Officer for the City of Chicago. During his time there, he was responsible for executive-level strategy and the development and implementation of the City’s policies and strategies for recruiting and maintaining a workforce that reflected the diversity of Chicago’s population. He was also responsible for cultivating a work environment that welcomed and supported that diversity.
Prior to his work at the City of Chicago, he served as managing principal of The Business Mosaic, LLC, and held vice president and business leadership roles at the National Minority Supplier Development Council, SBLI USA Mutual Life Insurance Company, Inc., Chicago State University, the Chicago Urban League, the United Negro College Fund, and The Ohio State University.
Marquis earned his B.A. degree from The Ohio State University and completed the National Urban Fellows America’s Leaders of Change executive leadership development program at the University of Kansas Public Management Center.
