Michael Carter is Managing Director and Co-Head of Technology Investment Banking for RBC. He serves as a member of the Investment Banking Management Committee.
Carter is a 25-year Wall Street veteran and member of the RBC Group Innovation Council. Prior to joining RBC, he was a Managing Director at both Barclays Capital and Lehman Brothers. Before investment banking, he worked for Hughes Aircraft and served as Political Deputy for Councilwoman Rita Walters, 9th District in Los Angeles.
Carter is a Director on the boards of Computer Services Inc. and the New York City Foundation for Computer Science Education. He is also a member of the Arts & Sciences Advisory Board for Washington University in St. Louis and the National Academy Foundation STEM Advisory Committee.
Carter’s recognition and awards include receiving Institutional Investor magazine’s Rainmaker of the Year and the M&A Atlas Award for Technology Services Deal of the Year, being awarded Institutional Investor magazine’s Deal of the Year twice and being named Change Agent in Finance Leadership.
Carter is a Los Angeles Coro Fellows Scholar and holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts from Washington University in St. Louis.
