Karen Morton serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer for Liberty Mutual Insurance.
As Liberty Mutual’s Global Chief Compliance Officer, Morton and her team of 180 compliance professionals across 29 countries are responsible for the enterprise compliance strategy and policies, including compliance training, Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, conflicts of interest, regulatory investigations, market conduct examinations, privacy, financial crimes and the operational risk assessment process.
Morton serves as the Co-Executive Sponsor for the company’s employee resource group, LEADA@Liberty + Allies and also leads the Liberty Legal Academy, developed to increase the pipeline of women and attorneys of color available to handle the company’s legal matters.
Morton is a member of the Board of Trustees for Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, serving as the Chair of the Governance and Nominating Committee and is a member of the Board and Executive Committee for Bridge Over Troubled Waters, a non-profit agency, which serves homeless and at-risk youth.
Morton received her B.A. from Tufts University and a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law.
