Joseph High is Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer at Grainger. In this role, he helps create and execute Grainger’s enterprise-wide strategies, policies and practices. As the global Human Resources leader, he aligns business strategies with people initiatives to build high-performing leaders and teams that meet the needs of diverse customers with excellence, driving company success and shareholder value.
High is a member of Grainger’s Senior Executive Team. He currently serves on the Board of Skills for Chicagoland’s Future, a public-private partnership working to match businesses that have current, unmet hiring needs with qualified, unemployed or underemployed job seekers. He has also served on the Board of Outward Bound and was a Trustee of the University of Toledo.
High is currently a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Human Resource Policy Association. He is also a member of the Board of Visitors for the University of North Carolina and the UNC Kenan-Flagler School of Business.
High holds a Bachelor’s in Business from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and a Master’s degree from Central Michigan University.
