Dennis W. Archer is Chairman Emeritus of Dickinson Wright, where he practices in the areas of appellate; arbitrators, mediators & facilitators; commercial & business litigation; corporate and labor & employment.

 

Archer’s prominent roles include Michigan Supreme Court Associate Justice, Mayor of Detroit and National League of Cities President, American Bar Association President, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Detroit Regional Chamber, and Chairman of Dickinson Wright, PLLC.

 

Archer’s recognition includes 2016 ABA Medal Recipient; 100 Most Influential Black Americans by Ebony magazine; 25 Most Dynamic Mayors in America by Newsweek magazine; 100 Most Powerful Attorneys in the United States by National Law Journal; Public Official of the Year by Governing magazine; Michigan Super Lawyers; and Best Lawyers in America.

 

Archer also held many leadership roles with the American Bar Association, National Bar Association, Wolverine Bar Association, Detroit Bar Association and State Bar of Michigan. He is a Life Member of the Sixth Circuit Judicial Conference; Fellows, American Bar Foundation; and Fellows, Michigan State Bar Foundation.

 

Archer earned his J.D. from the Detroit College of Law and his B.S. from Western Michigan University.
