Eric E. Peterson is U.S. Vice President, Diversity Dealer Relations for GM. In his role, Peterson leads GM’s commitment to increase the number of minority and women dealers within the GM dealer network. Prior to this appointment, Peterson was U.S. Vice President – Corporate Diversity, and he continues to maintain relationships and represent GM with key constituencies. Peterson started his General Motors career with GM’s Buick Division in 1976. In March of 1996, Peterson joined GM’s Chevrolet Division as Regional Manager. In 1998, Peterson was appointed Director – Minority Dealer Development. In January 2001, Peterson was asked to head GM’s Dealer Development program, which included Minority Dealer Development and to develop the Women’s Retail Initiative.
Peterson supports and serves on various boards of national and community-based organizations with an emphasis on “giving back” and helping others achieve their dreams. He believes in the core value that “people are the most important resource we have,” and should nurture and develop them to their maximum potential.
Peterson has a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing with a minor in Management from Ohio University.
