PEO Partners, LLC (“PEO”), a leader in the emerging Liquid Private Equity Alternatives space, has recently announced the addition of Ray Joseph to its Advisory Board. Ray’s appointment is consistent with PEO’s strategic plans to build its institutional capabilities and to position the potentially significant role of Liquid PE in portfolio management.

Ray boasts over 20 years of experience in investment management, asset allocation, internal and external public markets portfolio management, and private market transactions. Ray’s most recent role was Chief Investment Officer for the Los Angeles Fire and Police Pensions (LAFPP). Prior to that, he was a Vice President with Wilshire Associates and a Director at Barclays. Ray received a Presidential Appointment as the Chief Investment Officer for the Office of the Special Trustee, managing assets with the U.S. Interior and Treasury Departments, and was also Acting Chief Investment Officer for New Jersey’s Division of Investment.

Commenting on PEO’s latest team appointment, co-founders Randy Cohen and Jean-Louis Lelogeais said: “Ray has a wealth of experience as an allocator, and his perspective will be invaluable as we build the firm. He is a strong advocate of the potential of Liquid PE to be one of the next big ideas in portfolio management. We are thrilled to have him as part of our team and trust he will be instrumental in our future success.”

Ray’s key responsibilities at PEO will involve providing strategic advice, giving input into product design, and helping develop the firm’s marketing approach. He has championed and supported emerging MWDBE/PBE investment managers throughout his career, and he plans to continue this effort in his next role in the asset management community.

Commenting on the appointment, Ray said, “As institutional and retail investors develop and optimize their private market asset allocation and portfolio construction, Liquid PE strategies should be an important new option for alpha generation, diversification, and risk mitigation. Randy and Jean-Louis have extensive experience as asset management thought leaders and business builders, and it is a privilege for me to be part of the PEO team’s success as an Advisory Board member.”
