New York Denim Days (September 22-23) continues to connect the dots between denim insiders and denim lovers with the latest players to join its ranks: title sponsors TENCEL™ branded fibers by Lenzing as well as musical guest and vintage denim purveyor Nikki Lane.
“We are pleased to be returning to New York Denim Days as a sponsor and bringing ‘TENCEL™ Feels So Right’ to consumers,” said Tricia Carey, TENCEL’s director of global business development. “It is amazing to see denim enthusiasts discover how trees are made into jeans and feel the comfort of TENCEL™ Denim.”
Derived from nature, Lenzing’s TENCEL™ Denim is made from sustainably harvested trees, to provide softness and performance with a low impact on the environment. As title sponsor, TENCEL™ will create a shop-in-shop stocked with a selection of garments using its fiber from top brands, including 3X1, Mavi, Reformation, Godfather of Denim and more.
“TENCEL™ [lyocell] is not only a beautiful fiber that makes for incredible denim, it is one of the most important fibers in the denim industry and is helping to make the denim industry more sustainable and environmentally responsible,” said Andrew Olah, one of the organizers of New York Denim Days.
On September 23, Denim Days will take to the streets of Manhattan for an open-to-the-public denim bazaar that will shut down 18th Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues. The day-long event will feature vintage dealers and artisans, food trucks, festival games and musical entertainment.
Nikki Lane, the Nashville-based country singer/songwriter and proprietor of the vintage boutique High Class Hillbilly, will headline the free Denim Days outdoor concert. Shoppers and fans can purchase her hand-selected vintage offerings inside the Denim Days festival.
