Starting in February Malia Obama, who is now halfway through her gap year before starting Harvard University in the fall, will begin an internship in Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein’s New York office.
Sources have told The Hollywood Reporter that the eldest Obama daughter will begin working for Weinstein after the family finishes their Palm Springs vacation, which is to start after today’s inauguration.
Obama has ventured into Hollywood before, working as an intern on Lena Dunham’s Girls in 2015 and on Halle Berry’s drama series Extant. At this point, there is no information as to which department Obama will be working in at Weinstein Co., but THR source speculates that it may be in marketing or development.
