Karla D. Munden is Senior Vice President and General Auditor for Lincoln Financial Group. In this role, Munden reports directly to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, with a “dotted line” to the CFO. Munden’s primary responsibilities include leadership of the Internal Audit Department and serves as liaison to the Audit Committee and to its external audit firm. Karla is also a member of the Sarbanes-Oxley Program Management Office, which is responsible for making decisions about the LFG SOX program.
Prior to joining Lincoln Financial Group in 2006, Munden was the Audit Director of Scottsdale Insurance Company, a subsidiary of Nationwide Insurance Company. Munden is a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI) and maintains the following internal audit-specific certifications: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA), and Certified in Control Self-Assessment (CCSA). Currently, she also serves as a member of the Accounting and Advisory Board at the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, Elon University.
Munden has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from the College of William and Mary and a MBA from the University of Phoenix.
