Vice President of Business Development for the Information Systems division, ITT Exelis

Ms. Smith is responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities and ensuring strategic alignment with the business portfolio and financial objectives – from pursuit, to bid opportunity, to contract signing, through building and maintaining customer relationships. She consistently collaborates with the Exelis executive team to develop, maintain and execute strategic business plans to successfully achieve performance and growth objectives for the business.
Ms. Smith has 30 years of experience in key management, advisory and leadership positions providing support to agencies within the Department of Defense.
She is a member of several boards and has been the recipient of several awards for mentoring and community involvement.

Smith received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in computer science from the Johns Hopkins University, and an MBA from the University of Baltimore. She has also completed several telecommunications management courses at the University of Maryland. She is black belt trained in Lean Six Sigma.
