Fiserv believes doing good is good business. And no one embodies this ethos more than Neil Wilcox.

Since his appointment as Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at Fiserv in 2021, the company has made meaningful strides in the CSR and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) spaces – integrating both programs broadly across all business functions.

“Our CSR and ESG efforts build trust and create value for our associates, clients, shareholders, and the communities around the world where Fiserv has a presence,” says Wilcox. “By creating connections among our stakeholders, we are able to give back in a way that benefits everyone.”

The company’s Back2Business program, launched under the leadership of Fiserv Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Frank Bisignano, is an example of this approach in action. Initiated in 2020 to support businesses in the wake of the death of George Floyd and the COVID-19 pandemic, Back2Business has grown into a $50 million commitment to support minority-owned small businesses through grants, coaching and access to technology and networking opportunities. Since 2020, Back2Business has awarded more than 1,600 grants to minority-, women-, veteran-, LGBTQ+- and ethnically diverse-owned businesses in the United States and United Kingdom.

Fiserv provides small business solutions and resources for veterans and military-connected entrepreneurs.

During Wilcox’s tenure, Fiserv also has enhanced its focus on diversity and inclusion (D&I), driven by the development and expansion of its eight Employee Resource Groups (ERG), which now include more than 100 chapters across 17 countries. This D&I-focused programming shines a light on the communities and cultures that enrich the Fiserv workplace and strengthens connections among associates of varying backgrounds, perspectives and geographies.

As Fiserv grows its efforts around these critical initiatives, the company’s successes have been recognized with distinguished accolades such as inclusion on the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index, American Opportunity Index, the Military Times’ Best for Vets list and Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index. The company has also been recognized as a VETS Indexes 5-Star Employer and as a Fortune® World’s Most Admired Company.

Fiserv is committed to operating in a way that creates value for all stakeholders
The dynamic associate roster at Fiserv encompasses people with diverse ideas, experiences and backgrounds. Wilcox credits Fiserv leadership and the company’s associates around the world for their engagement in programs and initiatives that are driving visible and lasting change on behalf of the company. In 2022, Fiserv associates volunteered with or made financial contributions to more than 1,200 different charities, as tracked through the company’s Fiserv Gives Back portal. It is this collective support and effort that reflects the Fiserv aspiration, purpose and values to clients, shareholders and communities.

Fiserv actively partners with community organizations to increase reach of support.

In the ESG area, Wilcox has also been focused on spearheading the company’s growing focus on environmental stewardship, overseeing the collection of measurements of its greenhouse gas and energy performance, which will be used to inform and create future green initiatives.

Wilcox champions the idea that while perspectives may differ, it is possible to drive value for everyone with an intentional focus on social responsibility and giving back to our communities. This desire is what fuels his commitment to deliver programs that benefit all Fiserv stakeholders.
