William L. Jews was President and Chief Executive Officer of CareFirst Inc., the seventh largest Blue Cross Blue Shield plan with more than $5 billion in annual revenues.
Jews led CareFirst Inc. from 1993 until 2006, serving nearly three million customers, including the nation’s largest federal health program.
Previously, Jews served as president and CEO of both Dimensions Health Corporation and Liberty Medical Center, Inc./Lutheran Health Care Corp.
He is a director of the Signal 13 Police Foundation for Baltimore City and Caves Valley Golf Club. He previously served on the President’s Advisory Board of the University of Maryland Baltimore County, the Baltimore County Revenue Authority board, the Camden Yards Sports and Entertainment Commission.
Jews holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social and Behavioral Science from the Johns Hopkins University and a Master’s in Urban Planning and Policy Analysis from Morgan State University.
