Stef Murray serves as Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer and Vice President of Human Resources for Schnitzer Steel, a global leader in the collection, processing, and sale of the world’s most recycled product: steel. Since our founding in 1906, Schnitzer has grown into a global leader in metals recycling through a combination of organic investments and acquisitions which provide state-of-the-art processing, manufacturing, and information technologies.
She joined Schnitzer in 2012 as the Director of Human Resources for the Metals Recycling Business.
Stef has over 36 years of professional experience including 29 years of people leadership, 26 years of Human Resources and 10 years of Operations/P&L management. She began her career as a Manufacturing Supervisor at Procter & Gamble.
Stef has worked in many industries including Consumer Products, Technology, Services, Business Process Outsourcing, Automotive Dismantling, Metals Recycling and Steel Manufacturing.
Stef currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross and co-leads the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee.
Stef is a graduate from Northwestern University with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
