Sekou Kaalund is Executive Vice President, Head of Branch and Small Business Banking for U.S. Bank.
In this role, Sekou is responsible for leading 13,000 employees across 2,200+ branches located in 26 states, representing over $10B in revenue.
Sekou is focus on fostering growth through strengthened collaboration across Consumer & Business Banking teams as well as other areas of the bank to better serve its clients from region-to-region, market-to-market, branch-to-branch.
Prior to U.S. Bank, Sekou spent 15 years at JPMorgan Chase in a variety of staff and line leadership roles, including head of Chase Consumer Banking for the Northeast Division. Sekou’s experience led to his involvement in launching Advancing Black Pathways, the first global corporate initiative that leveraged a data-driven strategic framework to reduce the racial wealth gap.
Sekou is an active member with the Executive Leadership Council and YPO. His contributions have been recognized by several organizations, including INROADS 2023 Alumni of the Year and the LA Urban League 2023 Corporate Partner Award Recipient.
Sekou holds a B.A. degree in Public Service, Classical Studies, and Spanish from Hampden-Sydney College and a MPP, Public Policy from Duke University.
