Scott Taylor is Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Symantec, the global leader in cybersecurity with more than 12,000 employees in over 40 countries. In this role, he oversees Symantec’s legal, public affairs and security functions.
With over 15 years experience as the Chief Legal Officer of two publicly traded Silicon Valley technology companies, Taylor has managed acquisitions, divestitures and other strategic transactions, domestically and internationally, with deal values ranging from the tens of millions to multiple billions of dollars.
Prior to joining Symantec, Taylor was Chief Administrative Offi cer, Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Phoenix Technologies, and Vice President and General Counsel of Narus. Taylor began his legal career as a corporate attorney with San Francisco-based law firm Pillsbury Madison & Sutro (now Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman).
Taylor serves on the Board of Piper Jaffray, a leading investment bank and asset management firm, and the board of DigiCert, the world’s premier provider of high-assurance digital certificates. He is a trustee of The Menlo School.
Taylor holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Stanford University and a Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School.
