Robyn Minter Smyers is a Partner and Executive Committee member at Thompson Hine LLP, an AmLaw 200 firm known for innovation, client service and value-based pricing. Smyers is the immediate past Partner-in-Charge of the firm’s Cleveland office and a former chair of the firm’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Initiative.
Smyers is a deal lawyer with a practice focused on commercial real estate, construction law and corporate transactions. As co-chair of the firm’s Site Selection practice, Smyers helps companies locate and develop new plants, headquarters, and facilities. She also has significant experience with shopping center, urban redevelopment, multifamily housing, distribution center, hospitality, and public-private partnership (P3) deals.
Smyers forte is coordinating complex transactions, particularly multi-site, multi-state acquisitions and divestitures, ground-up developments, and sale-leaseback deals.
Smyers is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and holds a Bachelors’ degree from Harvard College and a Juris Doctor degree from Yale Law School. She has been recognized as the Black Professional of the Year by the Black Professionals Association Charitable Foundation and the Humanitarian of the Year by the Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio.
