Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, MD is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
In this role, Lavizzo-Mourey brings more than 30 years of personal experience as a medical practitioner, policymaker, professor, and nonprofit executive to her position.
Under her leadership, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has researched, evaluated, and implemented transformative programs tackling the nation’s most pressing health issues.
Lavizzo-Mourey came to the Foundation from the University of Pennsylvania, where she served as the Sylvan Eisman Professor of Medicine and Health Care Systems. At the federal level, Lavizzo-Mourey served as Deputy Administrator of the Agency for Health Care Research and Quality.
Lavizzo-Mourey is a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies and the President’s Council for Fitness, Sports and Nutrition.
Lavizzo-Mourey holds a Bachelor’s and M.D. from Harvard Medical School, and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
