Richard D. Daniels is Executive Vice President & Chief Information Officer for Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and Health Plan, Inc. In this role, Daniels is responsible for the ongoing leadership of Kaiser Permanente’s Information Technology vision, strategy and execution. Daniels reports directly to Bernard J. Tyson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, and he is a member of the National Executive Team.

 

As Chief Information Officer, Daniels has a track record of driving increased levels of performance as well as designing and implementing technical solutions with a focus on ROI, reducing costs while improving overall quality. While accountable for the reliability and resiliency of IT systems, he is also driving the introduction of new digital technologies that improve access to care in a member and patient-centered environment.

 

Under Daniels’ leadership, Kaiser Permanente IT has consistently ranked highly in Computerworld’s Best Place to Work in IT several years in a row. He has been honored as one of Computerworld’s Premier 100 IT Leaders.

 

Daniels serves on the Board of Directors for Playworks and Parkland Center for Clinical Innovation (PCCI).

 

Daniels holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University).
