Phyllis P. Harris is Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Legal Operations at Walmart, Inc. She leads a team of 70 attorneys and legal professionals in the areas of employment, intellectual property and corporate governance law.
In addition, Phyllis is responsible for strategy, budget, data and analytics, diversity and inclusion programs, outside counsel management, and the talent development of Walmart’s legal team.
Prior to this role, Phyllis served as Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer and the Vice President for Environmental Compliance for Walmart Inc., US. Prior to Walmart, Phyllis worked at the United States Environmental Protection Agency, where she served as Deputy Assistant Administrator for Enforcement and Compliance and Regional Counsel in Atlanta, GA.
In 2001, Phyllis was awarded the Meritorious Rank Award by President George W. Bush. Phyllis serves as the Vice Chairman for the Converse College Board of Trustees; Board Director for the Thurgood Marshall College Fund; the Advisory Board for the Council on Legal Education Opportunity; and the Board of Advisors for the Wake Forest Graduate Program in Sustainability.
