Damon P. Hart serves as Liberty Mutual Insurance’s Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. He operates as the company’s chief employment, compensation and benefits counsel for its 55,000 employees in 30 countries worldwide.
Prior to joining Liberty, he was a Partner at Littler Mendelson, Ogletree Deakins and Holland and Knight. While in private practice, he focused on litigation and employment matters. Mr. Hart has strong experience in a variety of complex business disputes before federal, state and local administrative agencies, at arbitration and in state and federal court on matters arising out a variety of state and federal anti-discrimination laws. He also has experience with Wage and Hour Class Action matters.
In addition to his litigation work, he provided business advice on contract, benefits, and real estate development matters.
Hart is active in his community as youth sports coach and mentor. He also serves on the Board of Ambassadors for the Home for Little Wanderers.
Hart graduated from the College of the Holy Cross, where he was a starting forward on the basketball team, which appeared in the 1993 NCAA tournament. He also graduated from Boston College Law School.
