Paula Howell Anderson is a Litigation Partner in the global law fi rm of Shearman & Sterling LLP. She represents major global corporations across leading industries in high-stakes matters, including Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”) investigations, cross-border litigation, antitrust litigation, and M&A-related litigation.
Paula has been recognized by the National Organization of Women, which honored her with its Women of Power and Influence Award, Global Investigations Review, and the Council of Urban Professionals, among others.
Paula is also committed to pro bono work, representing indigent criminal defendants, political asylum applicants, and victims of human trafficking. She previously worked in the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (“ICTR”) bringing perpetrators of the Rwandan genocide to justice, and regularly trains prosecutors at the ICTR and the International Criminal Court.
Paula is a fellow of the Leadership Council for Legal Diversity and serves on Shearman & Sterling’s Diversity Committee.
Paula received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. in Criminology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where she was class valedictorian and now serves on the Board of Trustees.
