Michael Blackshear serves as Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer for Ryan Specialty.
Blackshear assumed additional responsibilities in leading a newly created Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) function with the strategic mission to promote DEI at the firm, along with building strong alliances within the insurance industry and communities in which Ryan Specialty colleagues live and work.
Blackshear is a 30-year risk management and compliance veteran that previously served as Chief Compliance Officer for Chubb’s North American operations, in addition to senior leadership roles at Marsh & McLennan, KPMG, and PwC.
Blackshear serves on several advisory boards and was elected to the Board of Directors of the Excess Line Association of New York and is also a member of Syracuse University Board of Trustees.
Blackshear has received various awards, but those that are most notable, include the Syracuse University Chancellor’s Citation, and Fordham Law School’s Ruth Whitehead Whaley Award.
Blackshear received his B.S. degree in Finance from Syracuse University, a Master’s in Business Administration from St. John’s University, and his Juris Doctorate from Fordham Law School.
