Lisa J. Caldwell is Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for Reynolds American Inc. (RAI) and subsidiary RAI Services Company. RAI is an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary of British American Tobacco p.l.c.
Caldwell joined RAI’s largest subsidiary, R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, in 1991 as Manager of Employment Practices. Between 1993 and 1995, she served as a personnel manager for the company’s manufacturing division and later for its engineering department. She was promoted to Director of Human Resources in 1996, and managed various human resources, including strategic planning prior to becoming Vice President of Human Resources in January 2002. Caldwell became Senior Vice President of Human Resources for RAI and R.J. Reynolds in 2006, and she was promoted to Executive Vice President, Human Resources of both companies in June 2008. In January 2010, she became Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for RAI and RAI Services.
Caldwell serves on the Board of Visitors for Wake Forest University Schools of Business. She is a member of The Links Incorporated and The Moles, Inc.
Caldwell holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law.
