Laysha L. Ward is Executive Vice President and Chief External Engagement Officer for Target, serving guests at 1,834 stores and at Target.com.
In this role, Ward leads Target’s enterprise-wide approach to actively engage and deepen relationships with external stakeholders to drive positive business and community impact.
Since 1946, Target has given 5 percent of its profit to communities, which today equals millions of dollars a week. Ward serves as a member of the company’s executive leadership team.
In addition to her career at Target, Ward is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and The Links, an international woman’s service organization. She sits on the Board of Directors for Denny’s Corporation, and on the Advisory Board for the Aspen Institute Latinos and Society Program.
Ward received a Bachelor’s in Journalism from Indiana University and a Master’s in Social Services Administration with an emphasis in Management and Public Policy from the University of Chicago.
