John W. Hill is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of J Hill Group, a professional services practice specializing in assisting clients in improving their management operations, which he started in 2012. He has been the CFO of the City of Detroit, MI on a personal services contract since November 2013.
Prior to starting his consulting practice, from 2004 to 2012, Hill served as Chief Executive Officer of Federal City Council, a non-profit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to improving the Nation’s Capital. Hill has previously served in multiple other executive and financial leadership positions, including as Chief Executive Officer of In2Books, Inc. and as a Partner at Andersen, LLP.
Hill also serves as Treasurer on The Shakespeare Theatre Company Board of Trustees, and as Chair of the Board of Directors of the NMAC.
Hill received a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Maryland.
