John Dokes is Global Chief Marketing Officer and General Manager of the AccuWeather Network. In this role, he oversees strategic branding and marketing of the largest and fastest-growing weather media company in the world.
In his role as Chief Marketing Officer, Dokes manages a cross-functional team executing strategy development, enhancing the brand and marketing based on customer and industry trends. He has helped reinvent and expand the AccuWeather brand worldwide, for both consumer and business enterprise initiatives.
As General Manager, Dokes plays a vital role in guiding the network’s development and expansion, continuing to strengthen the only “All Weather, All the Time” national HD weather network through innovative programming and proprietary forecast offerings to serve its growing audience.
Previously, Dokes worked in Marketing at Marvel, where he leveraged the company’s storyteller brand to increase sales of custom interactive ad placements, growing relationships with such clients as Siemens, Cirque Du Soleil, Activision, Harley Davidson, Audi, NBA and Visa.
Dokes serves as a mentor with N.A.M.I.C., advocating diversity in the telecommunications industry and on the Advisory Board of Culture Shift Labs.
Dokes holds Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University-Northridge.
