Emery K. Harlan is a Founding Member of MWH Law Group LLP and serves as the Firm’s Relationship Partner.
With over 32 years of experience, Harlan focuses his practice on complex litigation, including employment and healthcare-related disputes. His employment practice includes an emphasis on defending companies and governmental entities in high profile, aggravated discrimination matters, having represented numerous organizations caught in the crosshairs of national civil rights groups, successfully securing behind-the-scenes “win-win” resolutions.
In his healthcare litigation practice, Harlan provides pragmatic, industry-specific advice while also representing clients in mediations, arbitrations, and administrative proceedings.
Harlan serves as General Counsel to the Wisconsin Legislative Black Caucus and helps guide the Caucus’ effort to achieve greater economic parity for people of color throughout the state of Wisconsin.
In addition to his legal practice, Harlan is a passionate advocate for promoting diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. He is a co-founder of the premier trade association focused on creating opportunities for women and minority-owned law firms — the National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF).
