Dennis L. Via is a retired U.S. Army 4-Star General and Executive Vice President with Booz Allen Hamilton.
In his final assignment with the U.S. Army, Gen. Via led the largest global logistics enterprise in the Department of Defense (DoD), comprising 120,000 employees in 38 countries with an annual budget of $50 billion.
At Booz Allen, Gen. Via is head of Corporate Strategic Engagement and previously served as a senior leader in the company’s Global Defense Sector, leading multi-year market-driven growth strategies, strategic planning, risk assessment and mitigation, crisis management, and international security cooperation.
Gen. Via is an independent director on the boards of Milliken & Company and Splunk Inc. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, an AUSA Senior Fellow, and an AFCEA executive board member. He also serves as a director for the Capital Partners for Education (CPE), The Army Historical Foundation, and The Virginia State University Board of Visitors.
Gen. Via received his commission from the Virginia State University ROTC program in May 1980. He is the first and only commissioned Signal Corps Officer in U.S. Army history to achieve the rank of 4-Star General.
