Christopher (“Chris”) Van Buren is a Principal and the Chief Risk Officer of Edward Jones.
In this role, Van Buren is responsible for building and managing an enterprise-level capability to maximize opportunities through the identification, assessment, and management of risk. He has over 35 years of experience in enterprise risk management, asset management, quantitative research, and engineering via senior roles in New York and London at Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, The Rockefeller Foundation, UBS, and TIAA.
Van Buren is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, a former president of the Global Association of Risk Professionals’ Buy Side Risk Managers’ Forum and a former member of the North American CRO Council. Chris is also a member of the Executive Leadership Council.
As an active member of his community, Van Buren serves on the Board of Trustees of the Princeton Public Library. Chris has been Board of Trustees chair and is currently an Advisory Board member of the Princeton-Blairstown Center.
Van Buren holds a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science from Princeton University, and an M.E. in Electrical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology.
