Martin Harris, M.D. is Chief Information Officer for the Cleveland Clinic. Harris is also a practicing physician in the Department of Internal Medicine at Cleveland Clinic, where he oversees the strategic development of the organization’s integrated technology infrastructure, which includes the electronic health record system (EHR) presently used by every clinical and administrative caregiver across the enterprise.
Harris was appointed to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Information Technology Standards Committee, which is charged with making recommendations to the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology on standards and certification criteria for the electronic exchange of health information.
Harris holds a Bachelor’s degree, M.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania, an MBA in Healthcare Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and he completed his residency in general internal medicine at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
