George W. Haywood is a private investor in numerous public companies including: Denny’s, XM Satellite Radio, Martek Biosciences, Zix Corporation and AVI Biopharma (now Sarepta). Within these roles, Haywood has advised on a wide range of issues encompassing governance and setting strategy of the companies.
Haywood has previously held leadership roles with the following: Moore Capital Management (1994 – 1998), Lehman Brothers (1982 – 1994), Managing Director and Proprietary Trader (1992- 1994), Managing Director, Head of Corporate Bond Trading (1989 – 1992) and Corporate Bond Trader (1982 – 1989).
Haywood has held a number of positions with a variety of non-profit organizations such as St. Albans School, New School University, Mannes College of Music, Public Theater/New York Shakespeare Festival, Poly Prep School and was a former member of Visiting Committee of Harvard College.
Haywood holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Harvard College and attended Harvard Law School.
