Brenda J. Gaines was President & Chief Executive Officer of the Diners Club for Citigroup.
In this role, Gaines was responsible for leading the activities of the North American franchise in the global twenty-nine billion-dollar Diners Club International network.
Gaines has held various positions within Diners Club North America, Citigroup and Citigroup’s predecessor corporations. Prior to joining Citibank, Gaines served as Deputy Chief of Staff to Chicago’s Mayor Harold Washington and as Commissioner of the Department of Housing for the City of Chicago.
Ebony Magazine named Gaines in “15 at the Top in Corporate America” and Crain’s Chicago Business recognized Gaines as one of the “100 Most Influential Women.” Gaines has been featured in The New York Times “The Boss” column.
Gaines holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master’s degree from Roosevelt University in Chicago.
