Ms. Nelson is responsible for the implementation of the company’s diversity initiative, as well as government relations and community affairs programs, including corporate philanthropy and corporate communications.
Additionally, she has held appointments in higher education and broadcast media. Nelson is a member of the advisory board of the William Patterson University Foundation in Wayne, N.J.; a board member of the Community Colleges of Southern Nevada; the Black Women In Sisterhood for Action, Washington, DC; The Boys and Girls Club of Nevada; and former chairperson of the Edward Davis Education Foundation. Her volunteerism has included organizations such as the UNCF/College Fund and the Association of Black Women in Higher Education among others.
Nelson has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
