Anré Williams is President of American Express’ Global Merchant Services for American Express Company. In this role, Williams oversees the operation of Global Merchant Services, which is the merchant acquirer, processor and marketing partner for the millions of merchants around the world who accept the American Express Card. In 2012, the global Billed Business volume processed by the merchant network was $888 billion. Williams is a member of the Officers’ Group, which is responsible for developing the company’s strategic direction and determining key policies affecting the company overall.
In 2008, Williams negotiated several significant investments for American Express, including the $1.1 billion acquisition of General Electric’s Corporate Payment Services business, and a $251 million investment in Concur Technologies, a leading provider of on-demand T&E expense management services. Williams serves on the Board of Illinois Tool Works Inc. Also, he is a member of the U.S. Travel Association CEO Roundtable.
Williams has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University and a MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
