Executive Vice President, Corporate Branding, Product Marketing and Advertising; Chief Communications Officer, BB&T
Ms. Williams, a 26-year veteran of the banking industry, leads its corporate branding, product marketing and advertising teams and serve as the corporation’s chief communications officer.
Over the course of her career, Williams has also worked in financial management, corporate audit and regional banking. She served as a senior supervising auditor at KPMG in the 1980s before joining First Virginia Banks in 1995.
Williams was named chief communications officer in 2009 and executive vice president in 2010.
Williams sits on the boards of the Winston-Salem Foundation and the Winston-Salem State University Foundation. She serves on the finance committee of the North Carolina Black Repertory Company’s National Black Theatre Festival (NBTF), NW Piedmont Workforce Development Board and is a member of the BB&T Women’s Leadership Council.
Williams earned her undergraduate degree in accounting from Wayne State University and her MBA in information security from James Madison University. She is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
