S. Renee Dotson is Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, Business Counsel at 3M.
In this role, Renee is responsible for leading over 100 global legal professionals supporting business groups, enterprise supply chain, trade compliance and sourcing. Since joining 3M in 2011, Renee has held a variety of roles of increasing responsibility. Most recently, she was Vice President and General Counsel of the Transportation & Electronics Business Group.
Additionally, Renee has served as General Counsel to numerous divisions, including the Industrial Adhesives & Tapes Division, the Advanced Materials Division, the Closure & Masking Systems Division, and the Transportation Safety & Security Division.
Prior to 3M, Renee was a litigator at Faegre Drinker (previously Faegre & Benson) specializing in Complex Financial Transactions Litigation. Earlier in her career, Renee spent over a decade in retail sales management.
Renee is on the Board of the Iowa Law School Foundation, as well as the Minnesota Dental Foundation. She was a long-time board member of the YWCA – St. Paul.
Renee received her Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa College of Law and her Bachelor of Business in Management from Western Illinois University.
