Calvin U. Allen is Executive Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. A recognized authority on organizational culture and translating strategy into execution, he has more than 30 years’ strategic and operational experience in nonprofit and for-profit sectors.
Allen has presented on leadership, well-being, corporate culture and strategy at many conferences and participated in the release of the U.S. Surgeon General’s framework on Workforce Mental Health & Well-being. He has served on multiple nonprofit boards and is currently the Treasurer and Chair of the Finance & Development Committee of CaringBridge.
Allen is a member of the Executive Leadership Council and the Philadelphia Society of People & Strategy and serves on the Philadelphia CHRO Governing Body. He was twice named one of Philadelphia’s Most Influential African Americans by the Philadelphia Tribune. He has also received several honors from the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, including being named to their annual “40 Under 40” list, as well as being recognized twice as a Leader in Diversity.
Allen holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame.
