Ursula Burns is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Xerox Corporation, a global leader in business process and document management, helping people to be more efficient so they can focus on their real business. Xerox has more than 140,000 Xerox employees serve clients in 160 countries. Burns was named Chief Executive Officer in July 2009 and, shortly after, made the largest acquisition in Xerox history, the $6.4 billion purchase of Affiliated Computer Services, catapulting the company’s presence in the $500 billion business services market.
In addition to the Xerox board, she is on the Board of Directors of the American Express Corporation. Burns also provides leadership counsel to community and educational nonprofit organizations. She is a founding Board Director of Change the Equation, which focuses on improving the United States’ education system in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). In March 2010, President Barack Obama appointed Burns as Vice Chair of the President’s Export Council.
Burns has a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of NYU and a Master’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University.
