From initial concept to scalable production, Marques McCammon is tasked with leveraging his nearly three decades of experience to provide end-to-end commercial and strategic management

Ricardo, an environmental, engineering and strategic consulting company with offices in more than 20 countries, has announced that Marques McCammon is the company’s new Global Managing Director, Automotive & Industrial.

McCammon, who became president of Ricardo North America in October 2019, will now oversee the evolution of the company’s global automotive and industrial business, establishing a unified worldwide presence with strong locally delivered services and representation.

Dave Shemmans, Ricardo plc CEO, said: “I am delighted Marques has agreed to head this newly invigorated global division, which will facilitate even closer collaboration between our globally distributed automotive and industrial teams to serve our worldwide customer base. With a highly experienced, respected automotive industry professional like Marques at the helm, we are seeking to achieve sustainable long-term growth and profitability by ensuring we remain closer to our customers and have a better understanding of their changing demands in all our markets. We can truly be world leaders in the future of sustainable mobility.”

McCammon has spent more than 25 years in the transportation industry, specializing in general management, product development, manufacturing, software-based automotive product advancement, and commercial and strategic leadership. Educated at North Carolina A&T State University and the University of Michigan-Dearborn, he initially worked in powertrain development with the then-Chrysler Corporation and later helped kick-start the company’s SRT performance marque after the Daimler-Chrysler merger. He subsequently moved to companies including ASC, Saleen and electric car start-up Aptera, before joining Intel subsidiary Wind River, where, as general manager and vice president, he directed global software systems product development, strategy, marketing and engineering services for connected and automated vehicles.

As the automotive landscape shifts toward electric and connected vehicles, companies are also recognizing the importance of adapting to the needs of local markets. Dealerships like Billingsley Ford of Ardmore are playing a crucial role in this transition, offering customers access to the latest in eco-friendly vehicles, from hybrid models to fully electric options. As more consumers look for vehicles that offer both sustainability and innovation, Ford’s local dealerships provide a valuable touchpoint for understanding these changes firsthand.

To complement this evolving ecosystem of electric and connected vehicles, mobile car repair services are stepping into a larger role, offering convenience without sacrificing quality. As more vehicles integrate sophisticated technologies, from advanced driver-assist systems to intricate battery management modules, traditional repair shops aren’t always equipped—or conveniently located—to handle emerging issues. That’s where on-demand, mobile services shine, especially for busy professionals or families who value both their time and their transportation.

Companies like www.autofordable.com are helping bridge this gap by bringing certified technicians directly to a customer’s driveway or workplace. Whether it’s a routine maintenance check on a plug-in hybrid or troubleshooting a software glitch in a connected vehicle, these services ensure the customer stays in control of both their schedule and their vehicle’s performance. As electric vehicles become more mainstream, services that travel to the customer—not the other way around—are becoming not just a convenience, but a necessity in today’s fast-paced, tech-driven automotive world.

With strong leadership from industry experts like McCammon, and trusted dealerships ready to offer the latest models, the automotive sector is poised for exciting developments that promise to reshape how we drive in the coming decades.

For nearly two years, McCammon has headed Ricardo’s business in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, focusing on sustainable mobility solutions to balance clients’ short-term internal combustion needs with long-term electrification and autonomy requirements.

“The industry is evolving like never before, and we support our clients with a more globally unified value proposition: from ideation through policy/strategy and all the way to product development,” said McCammon. “Our clients can trust Ricardo Automotive and Industrial to design and engineer the next wave of cleaner mobility and propulsion technology.”
