As part of a long-time commitment to being a diverse and inclusive company, Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) has announced that Regina Heyward has been named Head of Supplier Diversity, a new position reporting to William Porter, Head of Procurement at MassMutual, to strengthen its supplier diversity program focused on sustainable business relationships with diverse suppliers.
In this role, Heyward will build upon the company’s ongoing practices and firmly establish an innovative supplier diversity strategy that aligns with MassMutual’s core values and work with the company’s suppliers to ensure their continued investment in diversity, equality, and inclusion within their businesses.
“Regina is a seasoned leader who brings more than two decades of multi-industry global supply chain and diversity, equity, and inclusion experience to her role,” said Porter. “We look forward to adding her vast industry knowledge and strong leadership to the company, which will be invaluable as we work with our suppliers to help make true systemic change.”
Heyward most recently served as Senior Vice President and Head of Supplier Diversity at Wells Fargo & Company where she was responsible for a $1 billion-plus portfolio of diverse business relationships. She has worked globally in Asia, Latin America, and Europe.
Heyward is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and currently serves on the boards of directors for Disability:IN (Vice-Chair), the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (Audit Committee Chair), and the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). She is a member of the Institute for Supply Management’s (ISM) Nominating Committee and serves as an advisor to the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance.
A native of Thomasville, Georgia, Heyward is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of North Carolina A&T State University and earned her J.D. from North Carolina Central School of Law.
