The Aaliyah biopic Aaliyah: Princess of R&B will finally debut on Lifetime after numerous controversies and setbacks.
Lifetime announced the project’s arrival via the network’s official twitter.
The tweet read, “She was the princess of R&B and now her story is being told. #AaliyahMovie premieres Saturday, November 15.”
Alexandra Shipp from Nickelodeon’s House of Anubis portrays the legendary R&B princess in the upcoming film.
The Lifetime original film’s basis comes from former Time editor Christopher Farley’s book Aaliyah: More Than a Woman.
