Wayne A. Budd is Senior Counsel in the Boston Office of Goodwin Procter LLP and serves on the Firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. He had previously been an equity partner at Goodwin. Mr. Budd has represented numerous entities in significant litigation matters over the years.
Budd has served as the U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts, Associate Attorney General of the U.S., Senior Executive Vice President and General Counsel of John Hancock Financial Services and as the New England President of Bell Atlantic Corporation.
A former President of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association, Budd has received numerous honors, including the American Lawyers’ Lifetime Achievement Award. He has served on the boards of several public companies, and currently is a director of PBF Energy, chairing its Nominating Committee.
Budd has also served as a Commissioner on the United States Sentencing Commission, and he has chaired the National Board of the American Automobile Association. He has also served on the boards of institutions of higher education and other non-profit entities.
Budd received his B.A. (cum laude) from Boston College and J.D. from Wayne State Law School.
