Vincent H. Cohen
Partner
Dechert LLP

Vincent Cohen’s most recent professional achievement could rank as his greatest yet: his unanimous appointment to the District of Columbia Judicial Nominations Commission. It is the newest milestone in a stellar career for the Dechert partner, who is one of the nation’s foremost white collar lawyers, focusing his practice on high-stakes litigation on behalf of individuals and corporations.

Cohen chairs Dechert’s Black Lawyers Alliance, an affinity group, and is an elected member of the firm’s Global Policy Committee. Earlier, Cohen led the largest U.S. Attorney’s Office in the nation as acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. He previously served as the Office’s Principal Assistant United States Attorney.

Cohen is currently an elected Board Member of the Legal Aid Society of Washington D.C., a Trustee on the Board of Syracuse University, and a member of 100 Black Men of Greater Washington, using this platform to promote empowerment programs among minority youth. Unsurprisingly, Cohen is the recipient of numerous awards. He was recently honored as one of Profiles in Diversity Journal’s first-ever Black Leaders Worth Watching, and named Working Dad of the Year by Working Mother.

Cohen holds a B.A. degree from Syracuse University and a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law.
