Vanessa A. Scott is a Partner and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer at Eversheds Sutherland. An adviser to some of the world’s most-recognized companies, Scott is passionate about helping clients and diverse attorneys achieve their goals.
Scott manages the continuing development and implementation of US strategic diversity initiatives and programs. She leads the US cross-office Diversity and Inclusion Committee, developing strategic partnerships with clients to help increase diversity throughout the profession. She also serves on the US Hiring Committee, aimed to increase the organization’s diversity through the hiring process.
A partner in the Eversheds Sutherland US Tax Practice Group, Scott has extensive experience in employee benefits and matters related to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. She works with some of the nation’s leading companies.
Scott is a Nolan Fellow of the American Bar Association’s Section of Taxation and a former Chair of the Section’s Diversity Committee. She helped develop a program to increase diverse attorney engagement.
Scott holds an A.B. from Duke University, an LL.M. with distinction from Georgetown University Law Center, where she is an adjunct professor, and a law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School.
