Tyrone P. Thomas is a Member in Mintz Levin’s Washington, D.C. office. His client base has ranged from international corporations to non-profit institutions on matters, including employment, executive compensation, and workplace investigations. As part of his extensive education practice, Tyrone has counseled on executive employment arrangements involving over 200 academic institutions. In other management representations, Tyrone advises companies on reductions in force and allegations of discrimination.
Tyrone is one of the founding members of the fi rm’s Sports Law Practice Group. In intercollegiate athletics matters, he has advised on NCAA compliance, employment contracts and policies for athletics personnel, and privacy issues for student athlete records.
In professional sports matters, he has advised teams on league compliance issues and other high profile legal matters. He is nationally recognized as an advisor in sports law and served as a legal analyst for the New York Times, ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Bloomberg, and Sports Business Journal. He has been a featured speaker for the Sports Lawyers Association and LEAD1.
Tyrone is Chair of the Mintz Levin Diversity Committee and a member of the fi rm’s governing Policy Committee.
