Tyree P. Jones, Jr. is a trial lawyer in Reed Smiths’ Financial Industry Group, specializing in civil rights claims involving employment, consumer fi nance and information management. His practice also encompasses successful litigation of unfair competition claims, wage and hour claims and complex class action matters. He helped lead a team that defeated class certification in a nationwide MDL proceeding alleging disparate impact discrimination and seeking more than $1 billion against one of the nation’s largest financial institutions.

 

Tyree has counseled clients through regulatory investigations by the EEOC, OCC, OTS, HUD and the CFPB. He regularly advises C-suite executives and boards on the enterprise risk posed by insufficient compliance with state and federal civil rights laws.

 

Tyree received the Georgetown University’s Paul R. Dean Alumni Award, the highest bestowed by the Law Center. His professional and community affiliations include: Georgetown University Board of Directors; Georgetown University African American Advisory Board, Chair; Georgetown University Law Center Strategic Planning Council; Committee for Court Excellence; and Wiley Manuel Law Foundation.

 

Tyree earned his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center and B.A. from Bowdoin College.
